SIMI uses Ramzan to raise funds

Hindus should learn from Muslims how they act to protect their religion? Hindus should also contribute to organizations who work for protection of Hindu Dharma and should also fight against evils of Terrorism and Forced Conversions!

Mumbai:
If investigating agencies are to be believed, SIMI has been exploiting the holy month of Ramzan to generate funds. According to the evidence provided by the law enforcement agencies before the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) tribunal, SIMI activists across the country collected funds in UP, MP, Maharashtra and Gujarat during Ramzan.

The report says, "Amir Mehfooz, SIMI's ex–finance secretary, presented a report in a meeting of ex-SIMI workers at Gauriganj, Sultanpur, in October 2007, stating Rs 10,77,500 was collected as Zakaat during Ramzan. Safdar Nagori, former SIMI general secretary, collected Rs 35 lakh during his visit to Ujjain."

A senior police officer told MiD DAY, "These terrorist organisations need more funds for administrative work like organising meetings, accommodation for outstation activists, and recruitment procedures."

What is Zakaat?

It is obligatory upon all Muslims to give 2.5 per cent of their wealth each year to the poor.
